Today I listened to a speech about how we should care for the elderly people that surround us. We're pretty good at caring for them physically, but I think they are often emotionally neglected and devalued, and this is becoming increasingly more near to my heart. The other day I stood behind an old woman in line at Red Front and watched her arthritic fingers undo the clasp on her wallet, and I thought,
She's still beautiful. I wonder if she knows that she's still beautiful. I didn't tell her, but I hope she knew.
